Welcome to October and my very first blog post!
Fall is officially here!
As we take out our sweaters and sip on our warm drinks, I want to bring up a topic that has been on my mind… skincare routines.
As an esthetician building my business ( it’s been a little over a year) this is one of the biggest challenges I have seen my clients face. With the rise in interest of skincare products, modalities, procedures and on line marketing, the overflow of information has become more confusing than helpful.
One report shows the United states beauty industry revenue was 33.5 billion dollars in 2024 alone. Along with that, skincare product lines have been slowly increasing percentages in active ingredients, leaving people over-exfoliated under-hydrated, and still confused on what products to use.
My goal for my clients is to help them age not only gracefully but purposefully. To educate them on how to buy products that will suit their skin care needs and help them build a lasting routine they are excited about.
This November I will be hosting a workshop on how to create a skin care routine and feel confident using the products you have or buy. In the meantime here are a few tips you can apply immediately.
1. Establish a time to care for your skin. When you plan for something the likelihood of you sticking to it is higher.
2. Simplify your steps. Keep your day to day routine simple and consistent, leaving things like masks or special treatments for when you have more time.
3. Take time to learn your skin type. Many people do not know what kind of skin they have and buy products that can cause irritation or not be effective.
4. Protect your skin! Wether you use sunscreen regularly or just when you’re in the sun, it is known that prolonged sun exposure can break down our collagen. Choosing the right sun protection is critical for any skin type.
5. Get regular facials! Most people do not realize the benefits a regularly scheduled treatment can do for your skin and psyche.
Hopefully you have found this information useful and it sparks your interest to sign up for my up coming workshop.
